I have one concern with weed stocks...
Disclaimer: I hold these stocks like you guys. just one. And it's not about legalization. I feel like the stuff is getting better / stronger as time passes. What took a whole joint would only take a few puffs to have the same effect. What does this mean overall? People need to purchase less to achieve the same effect. If people purchase less, then demand is less. That's my biggest concern at the moment. I'm not trying to discourage anyone or persuade anyone to do anything - it's your money, do what you want with it, it's not my business. I'm just expressing my thoughts that this issue may be worth looking into. We have a ton of new companies / facilities being opened that are capable of producing at a huge supply. Huge supply and waning demand equals bad profits. Although I'm sure legalization would open up a lot of new smokers / more sales, so I'm not sure demand would die submitted by /u/parkufarku [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/6bhm84/i_have_one_concern_with_weed...

Mettrum was overpriced
*the formatting is a lot better at http://www.felkerinvesting.com/2017/05/mettrum-was-incredibly-overpriced.html * it sucks having to rebold and respace everything on reddit :( This is about replacement costs and why Mettrum was an incredibly overpriced acquisition for Canopy Growth Corp (TSE:$WEED). I'm going to explain what it costs to buy or build a licensed production facility for cannabis and why Canopy Growth Corp should have spent the $430,000,000 for Mettrum on production facilities instead. Replacement cost is a very important variable in investing. Replacement cost is what it would cost to replace or build a business or acquisition from scratch and it is an extremely helpful way of looking at businesses when you compare it to the cost of the business in an open market. There is no sense in spending $100 million on a building that would cost $1 million to build. This is an extreme simplification because intangibles such as brand, management, industry, etc, cant be quantified... https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/69sjn6/mettrum_was_overpriced/

Mexico and Weed
Hello guys, since the Mexican Congress approved the use of medical marijuana last week I think we can assume that sooner or later companies start producing cannabis in Mexico. As one user pointed out in the corresponding weedstocks thread: irrelevant, no reason for mexico to ever buy high priced canadian (or american) marijuana when they can grow it out doors with dirt cheap labor. Yes ours is safer but why would they care when they simply cannot afford ours? Only western countries matter for potential markets Which kind of reflects my thoughts on this topic. They could produce Cannabis much much cheaper than any Canadian competitor ever, or am I missing something? I had this thought around the ACB AMA and asked Cam Battley, luckily he responded: Q: Do you think the possible recreational legalization in southern counties eg. Mexico will be a thread to modern cannabis production facilities because they can grow cannabis outside and at these longitudes far cheaper? A: I don't see a... https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/68eiei/mexico_and_weed/
