Fellow market participants, I hope the weekend (long weekend for my fellow Canadians) was good to you. ACB July Option Chain Unusual Activity
this is not really DD or actionable info. more like something interesting i've found for some background, before the LEAF merger was announced I noticed 2,893 call options bought for the May $22 strike. this is a pretty high amount even for a more traded chain like WEED so I started to think something was up. I called TD and asked some questions and was told that all of the options were bought "off market" for $0.70c. off market meaning not a pleb like us and someone dealing directly. this would of cost the person roughly $202,510 to open and these guys usually don't sell the option; they hold til expiry which they would need $6,364,600 to excercise I bought a position myself thinking that LEAF was going to Nasdaq list but instead news came out about the merger, halt, then no deal. I also noticed about a 1000 decrease in the option open interest so I got spooked and sold thinking the rumour was bad. Aurora didn't have the money and i've never seen a $3 billion all stock deal done... https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/8kxdgm/acb_july_option_chain_unusua...

Plandai Biotechnology Addresses Opportunities in the South African and Global Poultry Industries
Plandai Biotechnology Inc. (OTC Markets: PLPL) (the “Company” or “Plandai”), a producer of nutraceutical and highly phyto-available extracts, is pleased to provide background on the current known issues in the global poultry industry and its identification of potential opportunities. Globally, more than 58 billion chickens are raised annually as a source of food, for both their meat and eggs. Chicken producers use nationally approved medications, such as antibiotics and antivirals in feed or drinking water, to treat disease or to prevent disease outbreaks. As a result of the ban on the use of antibiotic growth promoters in animal diets in the European Union as from January 2006, and the growing pressure on poultry producers in other parts of the world, alternative substances and strategies for animal health and growth promotion are now necessary. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/plandai-biotechnology-addresses-opportunities-sou...

Don't Expect Joints If the FDA Ever Approves Medical Marijuana
While past marijuana opponents like John Boehner are coming around to legal weed, the Food and Drug Administration isn’t likely to recommend that Americans light up a joint anytime soon. “I prescribed blood pressure pills and all kinds of other things to my patients when I was a practicing physician not too long ago,” Gottlieb said in an interview at Bloomberg’s headquarters in New York. “Using a lung as a drug delivery vehicle isn’t optimal,” Gottlieb said. https://finance.yahoo.com/m/ef3ec702-c13a-39e3-8026-932013e8af75/don%27t-expect-...

U.S. panel deals blow to Philip Morris tobacco device
Philip Morris International Inc (PM.N) should not be allowed to claim its iQOS electronic tobacco product is less risky than cigarettes, U.S. health advisers said on Thursday, dealing a blow to the company as it seeks to strengthen its portfolio of alternative nicotine devices. The recommendation is not binding and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration could still allow Philip Morris to make such a claim, but some analysts think the agency might ask for additional data first. Philip Morris, which has spent more than $3 billion to develop products that can counteract the decline in traditional cigarette sales, said it was encouraged by some of the committee members' comments that iQOS may have risk-reduction potential. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/u-panel-rejects-most-philip-185529931.html?.tsrc=...

Rights, Opportunities, and Responsibilities of Municipalities Regulating Cannabis -
California’s Bureau of Cannabis Control, the Department of Public Health, and the Department of Food and Agriculture recently released over 270 pages of emergency regulations to implement licensing for the Medicinal and Adult-Use Regulation and Safety Act (“MAUCRSA”). Licensing commenced on January 1, 2018. To receive temporary or annual licenses to operate, cannabis license applicants must demonstrate to the state of California they have “local approval” from the city or county in which they plan to operate. With the state fast-moving towards licensing in January, cities and counties are hard-pressed in deciding whether to regulate or ban MAUCRSA cannabis businesses. On December 14th, Brad Rowe of BOTEC and Hilary Bricken, a cannabis business and regulatory attorney in the Los Angeles office of the Harris Bricken law firm, presented a webinar on the information, data, and legal and policy considerations local governments need regarding MAUCRSA and their ability to regulate or ban... https://vimeo.com/252638353
