Question about investing in ACOL
I have a question for those who know more about stocks and their "fundamentals" than I do. I'm trying to wrap my head around why I should NOT buy into this company's stock. I've known about the Medtainer since the beginning as I have a friend who works there. And I saw the value in that initial product as being the best product out there for transporting people's "stuff" to wherever they wanted to go find a smoke spot, even if that smoke spot meant having to swim through an underwater cave or kayak upstream or walk through a bunch of waterfalls or whatever. What I saw was a product for the global REI/outdoorsy crowd. Anyway, we kinda lost touch over the last few years (as people do while life happens), but I've watched them grow from afar and I always kept an eye on their penny stock out of curiosity and I've been constantly impressed with their sales/units moved. All that said, I recently caught up with this friend and he invited me to tour their facility and it was far more... https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/75jiab/question_about_investing_in_...

Can the mods post a scam alert ticker across the top in order to warn investors of potential fraud that we uncover as a community? I hope there's no legal implications (liable etc) to doing something like that... I think it would be a great service to the community. Please help me understand how this how HVST's price
I was checking HVST's historical prices and being new to investing, I find the prices are confusing. For example, from Dec 09, 2014 to Nov 03, 2015, the price was 0.15 and there was only 300 in volume in total. Then on Nov 04, the volume was 2,750, and the price jumped up to .30 which was 50% up. Nov 05 the price was .55 and 2000 in volume. On Nov 06, 2015, it jumped to 2.00 per share with just 5 in volume. Then on Sep 26, 2016 it dropped to zero and came back alive at $4 per share on Nov 08, 2016, during which there was no volume traded. I checked the data from Yahoo Finance. submitted by /u/weblist [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/6paa7k/please_help_me_understand_ho...

Front-runners in other countries
Hey everyone - I am newer to investing in weed stocks, but see the enticement of the "big three" in Canada. Companies with lots of growth plans, cash, etc - looks like WEED, ACB, and APH. I like their trajectory and think they are still invest-able. However, looking at their price history if I would've known about them a year or two ago, I could have doubled my money in WEED's case or 100x with a stake in ACB. My question is - how did people find those so early? I would think similar opportunities exist in countries without current plans to legalize, but where it might be likely someday (US). Any advice on how to uncover these gems? Tips for a super-long hold in countries other than Canada where news might not be priced in yet? Thanks! submitted by /u/donkpeen [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/6k95pl/frontrunners_in_other_countr...

New Prohibition
So I am a recent college grad and acknowledge that my insight into the marijuana industry/the stock market in general is untested and possibly completely off base. I also imagine that this line of thinking is not novel in anyway, but would love to hear other people's thoughts on it anyways To me, it seems that investing in the American marijuana industry is a no-brainer. Most basically, I liken the current weed situation in the US to that of alcohol near the end of prohibition (for example in the early '30s). I imagine that people who foresaw the end of prohibition at the time could have made smart investments in the liquor industry - whether it be a particular brand of liquor, or simply those who decided to start their own liquor store in anticipation of prohibition's repeal. With the recent wave of marijuana legalization across the US and generally changing attitudes towards weed, wouldn't it be similarly shrewd to invest in the recreational marijuana industry on the verge of the... https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/6i838b/new_prohibition/

There's no denying that real estate is hot right now. With most markets topping pre-recession property values and low inventory throughout much of the country, the potential to make money in real estate is growing as fast as prices in major U.S. cities. I've had this question for a while. Lots of people say invest in undervalued companies, right? Say I did my calculations and determined that $FIRE is undervalued, wouldn't thousands of other people have done the same calculation anyway, and there's a reason the price is where it's at? In other words, aren't there professionals out there who can scope out and buy undervalued companies way before I can even do the calculations? submitted by /u/WhoRuleTheWorld [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/6g93tl/value_investing/

Whats the underlying drama related to CBW ?
Hi, Like most of you just entered the market a month ago and Im vested in AbCann at the moment. As things are going down pretty much, I am keeping a keen eye open. From my calculations of all streamed assets from CWB and from a 5$ profit per gram I recently saw (maybe only on AbCann? tough) and with a calculated production capacity of 69622kg we have a projected income of 348 M. CBW only has 9 M shares going on. Is it a realistic projected dividend of maybe 10$ per year if the shareholder keep most of the 30$ divident it would yield ? (Mind you I added a 20% running cost just to smash my own projections). Please correct me or give me some inputs also on why there is so much drama with recent news. [Analysis] Production costs will decrease dramatically once capacity increases
When I first became interested in investing in potstocks I decided to look for scholarly articles regarding cannabis and greenhouse crop production. I came across the following (excellent) articles: Cannabis growing - Estimated Cost of Production for Legalized Cannabis by the RAND Drug Policy Research Center Greenhouse Crop Production - The Economics of Production and Marketing of Greenhouse Crops in Alberta by the Alberta Government I will skip all of the details and simply summarize the data I found in each (although I highly recommend reading them in full): Table Production cost for 1 gram of indoor weed was $0.49-$0.96 for 1,300 sq ft of growing space in 2010 in California. Converting to CAD and adjusting for inflation gives us $0.56-$1.10 in today's dollars. Taking into account the yield assumption from the study (190.5/sqft/year), this comes to $106.41-$210.40/sq ft. Production cost for 1 gram of greenhouse weed was $0.20-$0.55 for 21,780 sq ft of growing space in 2010 in... https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/6eeyve/analysis_production_costs_wi...
