Growing, Investing
An odd question for you Redditors with a large number of shares in your portfolio...
QUICK BACKGROUND: I'm in my early thirties, have a solid career, a house etc. I have always wanted to get involved with investing growing up, but found it to be such a "scary beast" to learn that I held off on anything other than basic mutual funds. Weed stocks is my first foray into this world of brokerage accounts and buying / selling stocks. So far, it's been one heck of a learning experience, and I'm excited for what the growth this industry will experience in the years to come. I just wish I had more money to invest! Like many adults in their 30s, I don't have a lot of liquid capital. So, unfortunately, I can only invest a couple thousand dollars at this time. Obviously with the hopes of reinvesting the growth I achieve into additional stocks opportunities in various markets etc. I see many threads with individuals talking about owning thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of shares in various companies. $100k of shares here, $50k of shares there etc. MY QUESTION: For those... https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/8u6weu/an_odd_question_for_you_redd...

ACBFF vs. CGC long term hold
I am new to the cannabis industry and investing in general, but I believe that this industry has a lot of potential. Is ACBFF or CGC a better long term hold? I saw that ACBFF announced a $200 million debt facility earlier today, however the stock was down a few percentage points. Would it be a bad idea to hold shares of both? I would appreciate any feedback. submitted by /u/tmochs [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/8u4p64/acbff_vs_cgc_long_term_hold/

QCA yay or nay?
How're we feeling about QCA (Quinsam Capital Corp)? Pros: Strong investments (especially Acreage and US holdings) Strong growth in income each quarter Dividends Steady price Solid leadership Cons: No idea if they'll dilute sometime in the near future Recently made a risky play into Ontario (company it invested in applied for license very late + Ontario is looking hella rocky in terms of legalization) Invested in many small companies which may not be likely to survive May get bought by Aphira in the near future (multiple Aphira heads involved) Focus on the US may result in delay in rise until after Canadian legalization (thus investing has an opportunity cost) submitted by /u/Oatmeal787 [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/8tmv92/qca_yay_or_nay/

Question about THCX -> HEXO rebrand
I’m confused about an aspect of the Hydropothecary Corp’s rebrand to HEXO. I’m with RBC direct investing, and my THCX position is obviously stagnant, locked in at $5.30CAD. I can’t sell, because the symbol no longer exists. Is my entire position now completely worthless? If not, how can I ‘convert’ my THCX position to HEXO? I’m stumped. submitted by /u/SnowZulu [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/8t2bd0/question_about_thcx_hexo_reb...

Investing in Weed companies on TSX
With weed becoming legal in Canada, I want to invest 1-2k into the industry as I expect it will become big on the toronto stock exchange. With this, I have the option of putting all my eggs in one or two stocks, or diversifying a bit among different companies in the industry. Which strategy would you suggest for a 1y+ hold. And if you would suggest picking one or two companies from the bunch, why those. Looking forward to some discussion submitted by /u/Tevshko [link] [comments] https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/8soyyb/investing_in_weed_companies_...

Anybody else believe we are too deep into bubble territory ?
Most valuations of the companies out there are more than 100 times earnings. Valuations that mostly apply to tech stocks are now used in cannabis stocks where the margins are way smaller and business models are way different. Investing into pot stocks has become a popular investment for most common investors riding the wave whether a stock offers an intrinsic value or not. Thus raising the price to such high numbers. Speculation on cannabis consumption is just that. Speculation. Even if you want to base your numbers on other countries or Colorado for example, we are all speculating at this point. Speculating both on the commercial and the medicinal consumption of it which makesit even more frightening. I hope I am wrong but there is bound to be a major correction at some point. What are your not often talked about plays, and why? (QCC & BE)
What stocks are you investing in that don’t get much attention around here? Let’s hear about them, and why. Please avoid posting fluff like “FIRE, because it’s FIRE”. Here are mine: QCC - not oft mentioned here, but the essential shovel and pick play for this green rush. With the news coming out today/ yesterday I could anticipate some shops news from them. Speaking with the investor relations gentleman he mentioned that they are in talks with a number of growers - local, American and internationally for equipment sales and full lab build outs. Their desk with Schneider electric brought in some good revenue for the cybernetic side of their business. Could he be just doing his job and fluffing? Sure. Only time will tell, but I like their CEO Rosy and think this could be a really strong play long term. BE - solid smaller cap, they will be opening a storefront in Saskatchewan. They have a good team - with Chris Murphy being a stand out. From his bio located on their site “He sits on the... https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/8sil9b/what_are_your_not_often_talk...

Waiting to Exhale: The Case for Cannabis Investing
The former, a large swath of the global population, is tainted by 90 years of misinformation that’s been perpetuated by those benefiting from the status quo, which began with William Randolph Hearst defending his paper empire and continues with big pharma protecting their prescriptions. They view cannabis as a gateway drug or cite moral conflicts and the conversation ends there. We believe many of them will evolve into late-cycle adopters that provide future layers of demand. https://finance.yahoo.com/m/03c88430-4dfd-33c7-8fe4-e8503a9e06e0/waiting-to-exha...

Quinsam Capital
I just read thru their recent financial report and they look really, really good. They actually make money already, they are growing fast, they are investing in up & coming cannabis enterprises. Basically, they should be going through the roof right now. But nothing is happening. I'm not mad, because that means I can buy more stock at those ridiculous low prices. But I just don't get the pricing here.
