B.C. pot producer Tilray weighs IPO
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-bc-pot-producer-tilray-weighs-ipo/ Tilray Inc. is looking to become the next big publicly traded medical cannabis producer. According to people familiar with the matter, the British Columbia-based company is working with BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and New York-based investment bank Cowen and Co. on an initial public offering. At this time, Tilray is weighing a listing south of the border, the people said, asking not to be identified because the details are not public. As Canada’s last major privately owned marijuana grower, Tilray has watched from the sidelines while dozens of other cannabis companies have gone public in Canada to great fanfare and used their shares as currency to make acquisitions. On the other hand, Tilray is one of four North American cannabis assets owned by Seattle-based private equity firm Privateer Holdings Inc., which has raised about US$250-million during the past five years to help finance these businesses. Canopy Growth
If you don’t find value in this post, whatever. I’m writing and sharing this because I wanted to and curious to see others feedback. TLDR: Canopy is following similar trends to major whiskey distillers post US alcohol prohibition. Marketing, branding, and PR is key to this emerging industry, in my opinion. IMO CGC is king and on so many levels. Canopy General Branding/Marketing: "Canopy Growth” it’s both sexy and professional; it’s a title that speaks for itself and paints a picture in your mind of exactly what the company is fundamentally involved in. “Tweed” is a solid brand name which carves its own label from the obvious roots of the most commonly recognized term "weed"; it’s one syllable and stylistically the logo design is both simple and iconic. Thank god they didn't include an MJ leaf in their logo or insert "Cann" into their corporate name, although that would be some creative marketing genius (sarcasm here)...Until many other LP’s rolled out their brands recently, it seemed... https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/8ncduc/canopy_growth_the_power_of_b...

Treat Insomnia with Cannabis -
There is nothing worse than tossing and turning in bed and looking at the ceiling fan the whole night. But, this is happening, and approximately 1 in 10 people are losing their sleep due to the medical condition insomnia. This condition occurs due to stress, anxiety, jet lag or from a particular type of medication. Insomnia can either last the whole night or stretch for many days. It is usually treated with prescribed medications, counter medications and even with cognitive or the behavioral treatment methods. However, many people in the Legalized States are opting medical marijuana as the alternative treatment solution to get the quality sleep. Scientists have proved that this herb boosts memory, protects the immune system and revives the body. CBD-enriched cannabis like tinctures and potent oils facilitate sleep. Edibles also make people sleep for at least 10 hours. The good news is, you can also double the effect of cannabis if you consume it with other herbs like hops, chamomile,... https://vimeo.com/272339091

Invictus MD (TSXV: GENE) - Napkin math and undervalued?
First of all, this company does not have a ridiculous valuation, and is one of three LPs with a sales license in Alberta (the others being Aurora, and Sundial). Alberta is very important as it allows for PRIVATE RETAIL vs. the government owned monopolies of Quebec and Ontario. This allows licensed producers there to get more margin and net profit. Why am I long? January to May 2018 Milestones Completed: Canopy Growth (TSX: WEED) and AB Labs (50% owned by Invictus) partnership secured and product successfully sold. AB Labs Sales license secured, ownership increased to 50%, further expansion in place to 4,600 kg at Hamilton location. Current sales capacity will be $11.5 million at AB Labs. Acreage Pharms Phase 2 Completed (Current production capacity is now 3200 kg of low-cost high quality indoor cannabis). Current sales capacity is thus $16 million at Acreage Pharms. Acreage Pharms sales license also secured, oils application in place. Tweed Mainstreet Data Easter Egg
Just noticed something while looking up the Assurance Reports for a product on Tweed Mainstreet. It's only one part of the dataset as it doesn't show quantity but what it does show is exactly how long any one lot has been sitting on the shelves. If someone wants to track this/PR mentions of harvests it could be a good indicator of individual product uptake/interest. Go to https://www.tweedmainstreet.com/collections/available and click on "View Quality Assurance Report" on any of the available product pages. Their oil and capsules are flying off the shelves as they release them but much of the flower at various price points is sitting for longer. Sample strains that are sitting longer than expected at various price points are below, the oils and caps are all released within last 7 days except for the ones noted below. FLOWER MORRIS (91 KRYPT) - $9/g - May 2, 2017 SUN-GROWN SOUR KUSH (DNA CERTIFIED) - $7/g - May 19, 2017 SUN-GROWN YORKSHIRE (HEADBAND) - 18%THC - $6/g - May 31, 2017... https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/6ri4s8/tweed_mainstreet_data_easter...

WMD Receives Oil Production License
WeedMD receives Health Cda licence to produce pot oils 2017-06-19 08:25 ET - News Release Mr. Bruce Dawson-Scully reports WEEDMD SECURES HEALTH CANADA LICENSE TO PRODUCE CANNABIS OILS On June 16, 2017, WeedMD Inc. received a supplemental licence from Health Canada for the production of medical cannabis oils. The company has imported a purpose-built high-throughput ethanol extraction machine from Germany, with the goal of starting research and development and production of cannabis oils immediately. After thorough analysis, WeedMD concluded that ethanol extraction is capable of producing a clean product that meets and exceeds the regulator's strict guidelines, while providing a scalable and low-cost platform to service the future demand for oil and other extracted products. Once the company has produced and inventoried saleable batches of oil, it will invite Health Canada to conduct a final inspection to secure an amendment permitting the sale of cannabis oils. Thoughts on $QCC (Quadron Cannatech)?
Originally posted this in the daily thread but it got a bit long: $QCC (Quadron Cannatech; CO2 extraction tech for individuals/businesses for MJ/hemp/etc, and vape pens; really looking to capitalize on the popularity of oils): Diamond in the rough (at its present price), or just another penny stock? Over the last couple months they closed two orders for $500,000 of pens and their CEO Rosy Mondin is very clearly a heavy 'dealmaker'/networking type who apparently gets invited to give Bill Blair advice - she's a lawyer, and so participated in the regulatory framework recommendations - which is good for the niche they're looking to carve out servicing businesses and selling to individual growers (and good if they ever need to lobby for anything[1]). Their market cap is presently ~9.5m. From what I know, they are already profitable [2], and chose to go the pick-and-shovel route because they saw the road to positive ROI as an LP was long , and preferred being able to sell worldwide without... https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/6ht9ja/thoughts_on_qcc_quadron_cann...

979 kgs are "missing" from CGC Q2 and Q3 Closing Inventory
I have been lurking on this sub Reddit for awhile. But last week I read a great post by mollytime and was amazed by the good discussion of the info in the post that followed. "Amazed" I guess because at SH the pumpers would all head to Smith Falls Torch & Pitchfork for supplies if you showed bad data on their beloved. So I thought I would join and post something I thought was interesting. 979 KGs are "missing" from Q2 and Q3 closing inventory for CGC. I have been sitting on a couple of CGC issues. I was waiting to see if they surfaced on the various blogs, any analyst, Reddit or in the press. With Q4 coming out within a month I figured I would air the smaller and easier to understand issue. Closing Inv kgs = (Opening Inv kgs) less (sales kgs) less (scrappage or destroyed in kgs) plus (harvest kgs). Pretty simple math. What you started with less what you sold, less what you scrap, plus additions to inventory, equals closing inventory. Every industry uses it. You can get Sales and... https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/6hgs43/979_kgs_are_missing_from_cgc...

SL holders be careful
Lately I've been using the work of u/VicLinton as a tool to compare LP's by diluted market cap. In doing so, the market cap of SL started glaring at me ($385,723,610), in relativity to it's peers. It's an absurd valuation if you consider that they don't have a license, they are possibly at risk of losing 3 harvests, and aren't even close to producing oils or expanding globally. They have the 4th highest cap behind APH, which places them above MJN, CMED, OGI, THCX, and MARI (my personal favorite). I theorize (based on what I've seen lately) that their cap is being kept inflated because investors want to sell the license news. License news isn't what it once was, and in today's landscape I don't expect much of a rise. In fact, selling the news is literally dumping at 9:45am the morning of (as seen recently by RTI and soon to be IMH). I don't know why I felt the need to warn folks out there, but I don't think SL should be valued at more than a cap of 225k (again, relative to it's peers... https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/6fq2ah/sl_holders_be_careful/

A few thoughts on this movement.
Why do you think the companies that grow and produce weed will have any monopoly over the industry? People are growing it in their homes and backyards right now. It's just a plant. People can even create their own oils and butters for edibles. If you think that the edibles industry will be a larger industry, don't you think that Nabisco will just buy up brand names and vertically own the supply chain? These aren't computer chips, these are plants. Idk this just looks a lot like it could turn into a Dutch tulip bubble.
